For years now, silk screen printers have been using SubToner cartridges to produce their direct positives. SubToner cartridges provide a dark UV-blocking black which makes excellent quality screens.

But, as good as our regular SubToner cartridges are for silk screeners, we actually have a darker, denser toner formula for most LaserJets which is just incredibly good for direct positives. It puts more toner on the transparency or vellum, and thus has a lower yield. Which is why we don’t use it in our regular cartridges.

So if you’d like a SubToner with the maximum UV-blocking black, please specify “SubToner for Screenprinters.” The price is the same, and we don’t have this option listed separately on the website shopping cart.
